Because of my interest in evolution and genetics, I have written a couple of scripts with simulations. This page is an overview all my ‘evolution’ pages.
Simulating Evolution
This page explains the background of the various ‘evolution scripts’. Read it before trying the different pages with the actual simulation scripts.
Wiki Weasel Script
This page has a script that works like Dawkins’ Weasel. I called it Wiki Weasel because the idea for the algorithm came from a Wikipedia page.
My Weasel Script
This is an improved version of Dawkins’ Weasel, with a different (better) method of selecting the best intermediate sentence.
My Color Weasel Script
A modified version of My Weasel Script that uses colors to illustrate why my selection method is better.
Other Animals
A just-for-fun version of My Weasel Script that lets you select another animal instead of a weasel.
Peppered Moth Simulation
This is a simulation of ‘natural selection’ using the Peppered Moth evolution as a model. More information is provided on the page. This script has a lot of options / settings to play around with.
Peacock Simulation
This is a simulation of the tails of Peacocks. What happens if peahens prefer red, green or blue colors? More information is provided on the page. This script has several settings to have fun with.
